Around Melbourne Central Station

Melbourne Central is a 211 m high office building with a major shopping centre. There is also an underground railway station here.
Melbourne Central located on the corner of La Trobe and Elizabeth streets.

The highlight of Melbourne Central is the Shot Tower. It was build in 1890 and was surrounded by warehouses. As Melbourne develops, other buildings were demolished but significant 50m tall Shot Tower was carefully preserved and covered by 77 tall geometrical cone of Melbourne Central shopping centre.
The used to be a hot-air balloon and Wright Brothers airplane hanging from the cone, but unfortunately it was taken out during shopping centre renovation.

Melbourne Central is called
Melbourne Central is called 'Batman building' because of bat-like communications anntenas

Another Melbourne Central attraction is a giant pocket fob watch. Every hour the watch plays Waltzing Matilda with a mechanical marionette display.

In the shopping centre there are boutiques, supermarket, food court, cafees, pub, cinema and a gym.
